Westerly Sun — Beach Owners Warned About Rebuilding

WESTERLY — Rebuilding already has begun in the danger area in spite of the fact that the September hurricane cause $100,000,000 damage in addition to the heavy death toll. The unwise and unfortunate location of hundreds of large and small summer cottages on foundations of treacherous sand dunes along the low-lying, offshore beaches was primarily responsible for the loss of 312 lives in Rhode Island.
