Special Legislative Commission to Study and Provide Recommendations on the Issues Relating to Lateral Access Along the Rhode Island Shoreline
Thursday, October 14, 2021
2:00 PM
Room 35 - RI State House
Nathan Vinhateiro, Assistant Director, Janet Freedman, Senior Fellow, URI Coastal Institute — Coastal Dynamics and Implications for Alongshore Access
Dennis Nixon, Professor Emeritus of Marine Affairs, URI — 1986 RI Constitutional Convention discussion
“Michael Woods : this meeting will be a presentation to the commission from experts, and no public testimony will be taken. Personally, I feel like simply being in the room so that commission members know the public is engaged and watching is a statement in itself, so I attend hearings in person when I can. If you have the availability and bandwidth to join me and others it would be appreciated! There will be a couple meetings of this commission later in the year that allow public testimony - so if you only attend one or two meetings those would be the most impactful because you'll have the opportunity to speak directly to commission members and tell your story, and to convey your support for shoreline access in RI. I'm sure those opportunities will be widely publicized within this group, and likely outside of it too.”
