KING TIDE Help Document MyCoast RI

Rhode Island Sea Grant is with Clean Ocean Access and Coastal Resources Management Council of Rhode Island.

We've got a busy season of extreme high tides (King tides) beginning May 15.

King Tides are higher-than- normal tides that occur when the moon is either new or full and closest to earth, which can flood low-lying areas.

Help communities document impacts of flooding from King Tides by uploading photos to the MyCoast app in order to help identify vulnerable areas.
