Westerly Shoreline Access Walk
hosted by Rhode Island Sea Grant
Join us on a walking tour of Westerly rights-of-way and learn about what different groups are doing to address shoreline access issues.
About this event
Join us on Wednesday, September 21, at 5 p.m. for a walking tour of a few of Westerly’s shoreline access sites. RI State Representative Terri Cortvriend, Casey Tremper of Clean Ocean Access, Leah Feldman of the Coastal Resources Management Council, and Janet Freedman of the URI Coastal Institute will talk about shoreline access issues, including proposed legislation regarding lateral access that would make the debris line the indicator for where the public is allowed to traverse the beach.
This short walking tour will take place along Atlantic Avenue in Westerly. Directions to the site and instructions for meeting the group will be emailed to you after you register.
